Conductor & Artistic Director
Victoria Gau
Maestra Gau is well-known in the Washington DC area for her work as Associate Conductor at National Philharmonic. She has additionally served as Artistic Director and Music Director/Conductor of the Other Opera Company in Bethesda, Maryland, which she co-founded in 1992. and music director for such Washington area companies as The Washington Savoyards, Victorian Lyric Opera Company, Annapolis Opera Musicales, the Eldbrook Opera Ensemble, and the IN-Series. Guest conducting includes the Open Page Ensemble, Alexandria (VA) and Akron (OH) Symphonies, Friday Morning Music Club Orchestra, and the Kennedy Center Messiah Sing-Along. She has been active as Artistic Director of the Takoma Ensemble and is the former Conductor and Music Director of the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra in Richmond, VA.

Potomac Fever is the small, close-knit harmony a cappella group drawn from the ranks of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC. For over thirty years, this spirited ensemble has served as an outreach-voice for GMCW, bringing unaccompanied vocal magic to stages across the DC-Maryland-Virginia region and beyond. With no instruments in sight, Potomac Fever sings a lively mix of contemporary pop, timeless standards and Broadway favorites, always with the goal of entertaining, connecting and lifting up the community. From performances for high-profile figures to neighborhood venues, their energy, camaraderie and vocal craftsmanship make every set memorable. As a guest ensemble for our Spark! Holiday Concert, Potomac Fever will bring its trademark blend of fun, vocal brilliance and holiday cheer, adding a fresh layer of sparkle to an afternoon meant for families, friends and music lovers alike.
